Steel Cake Pans

Stainless steel cake pans are not commonly used, but can be used for almost anything. You can use it to bake, make jello, meatloaf, almost anything you can think of can be used on a stainless steel cake pan.

You can get these cake pans in many different places. Just to give you an example, here are a few selections of different stainless steel cake pans.

To prevent sticking, lightly oil your pan, or lightly spray with non-stick cooking spray. Limit your pan to 500°F or less. Anything higher than that can cause the pan to warp. These pans give you an easy clean (just soap and water) by scrubbing with a nylon scrubbing pad, if need be. You can even shine them up if you get the right products. Store them with a paper towel in between each layered pan to keep them shiny.

You want to make sure not to use these pans on the stove top and make sure you always cool it off before putting it into the dishwasher. You can use utensils of any material, but make sure you don't cut the surface of your pan. This won't damage the metal, but will leave marks.

Make sure you follow these tips to keep your cake pan in the best shape it can possibly be in, and it will last you for years to come. It has many uses, and I've given you easy ways to keep up with it and how to NOT use it.

Doberge Cake

Doberge cake is a type of cake that originated in New Orleans, Louisiana. It is make of multiple, thin layers of cake alternating with dessert pudding. These cakes are often make with half chocolate pudding and half lemon pudding. They are covered in a thin layer of butter cream and a fondant shell or a poured glaze on the outside. They usually have six or more layers, but can be made with less. They can either have chocolate, lemon, or even caramel flavoring.

This cake was actually created by Beulah Ledner in 1933 after adapting it from the Hungarian/Australian Dobos Cake, which is made of nine genoise cake layers, filled with buttercream, and topped with a hard caramel glaze. Ledner replaced the buttercream filling with a custard filling and iced the cakes with buttercream and a thin layer of fondant.

Here is an example of what this delicious cake looks like:

Looks appetizing, doesn't it? Go ahead and look up this yummy recipe online or go to New Orleans and get the real thing yourself. However you do it, you've got to try this!
